Hawaii is now going green.

Governor David Yutaka Ige signed a bill that will require all electricity from the state to come from renewable energy.

Hawaii is the first state in the country to commit 100% to clean energy. People in the Aloha State pay the highest power rates in the country.

Clean energy advocate, Jeff Mikulina says, "What it means in the long term is lower energy bills, stable bills, likely more local jobs. We're shifting that money from buying fossil fuel and shifting it to local investment, and local labor."

Most of the pressure will go on energy providers to build more solar, geothermal and wind power sources.
